I Believe

When I hear a newborn baby’s cry

And the sun warms my back from a clear blue sky,

I believe!

When a cold white snowflake alights on my nose

And sun-warmed sand tickles my toes,

I believe!

When I can sense a presence and no one is there,

And trouble arises, yet I’m none the worse for wear,

I believe!

When problems surround us and evil raises its head,

I lean on the promises which stand me in good stead:

I believe!

I believe when I gaze on the immense, wonderful array

Of budding trees and flowering plants to children at play,

Yes, I believe!

The road is long and weary with hard labor along the way,

Yet we struggle on, hoping for a brighter day,

Striving to believe.

Should you listen carefully with your inner ear,

Spiritual music and words of praise will soothe away your fear.

Then maybe you’ll believe.

Praise Him

This poem comes from Autumn Leaves:

When your heart troubles you, remember.

When you feel sad or lonely, remember.

When you need a true friend, remember.

When you are very heavy laden, remember.

Remember who came to give you rest.

Remember who gives you life forever.

Remember who died upon the cross for you.

Remember who shed His blood for our sins.

When you need direction and guidance, ask.

When you need help and healing, ask.

When you feel lost and need repentance, ask.

When you are faced with any problem, ask.

Ask and the way will be made straight.

Ask and the door will be opened.

Ask and it will be given willingly.

Ask and life will be given abundantly.

For the daily sunlight you walk in, praise Him.

For the food which nourishes your strength, praise Him.

For the sleep which renews you each morning, praise Him.

Praise Him in all things for thrice Holy is His Name.

Praise Him for He alone is found worthy.

Praise Him for He is exalted in Heaven and Earth.

Praise Him for all Honor and Glory as His forever and ever.

Amen

Simple Man’s Prayer

This poem comes from Autumn Leaves:

High-tech world of fast food, fast cars,

And I, a simple man,

Have a “Rock” to lean on,

And He will understand.

This hectic pace I’ll leave behind,

To search out a secret place.

There I’ll tell it on the mountain

As I seek His saving grace.

I’ll not ask for riches,

Not even a touch of glory.

He knows I’m a simple man —

My life’s an open story.

I’ll ask him to send some sunshine,

Just one tiny ray,

To pierce the dark of ignorance,

Chasing the clouds away.

Next, I’ll thank Him for our birthright —

This great, wonderful land.

There’s much more that could be said,

But then, I’m a simple man.

I’ll thank him for listening,

For letting me have my say.

In closing, I’ll praise His precious name,

And lastly, I’ll wish Him a happy day.

I Am

This poem comes from Autumn Leaves:

That which refreshes my soul.

That which renews my life.

That which gives life meaning.

That which gives purpose to existence.

That which gives center, balance,

Quietly directing our pathways.

That which our consciousness innately

Understands is right or wrong.

That which is beautiful from any angle,

In any light, from any distance.

That which cannot be changed, disfigured,

Or transformed into anything but beautiful.

That which is true to life forever.

That which lives in truth throughout eternity.

That which brings peaceful serenity

As it strips away falsehoods by knowledge.

That which makes the unique, alone,

Thrills us, yet challenges us onward.

That in us which cannot be denied

But accepted and exalted in reverence.

The I AM of the Universe, Father of Lights,

The Alpha and Omega, first and last,

Which lived, died, yet lives again forevermore.

That is what we recognize in ourselves! HIM!

Glorify His Name in all places, at all times

That your days may be long, your peace steady.

Praise Him in all things, for all blessings.

Place your feet upon the path and follow HIM!

Levels

This poem comes from Autumn Leaves:

Speak diligently, strive hard

Seeking to find

Higher truths, awareness levels…

Always use your mind.

First level, fresh mind,

Everything new, white as chalk.

Learned to speak, began to think,

Slowly learned to walk.

Second Level, awkward years,

Body strong, learning right from wrong.

Having fun, wild free years,

Lackadaisical attitude, trying to belong.

Third Level, maturity, responsibilities,

Striving to fulfill our dreams,

Different places, varied faces,

Drowning in waterless streams.

Fourth Level, yearning yet stable,

Successful, empty, desire burning.

Appreciation of art, beauty, humanity,

Thoughts always churning.

Fifth Level, consciousness abides.

A foreboding feeling,

Something surely missing,

Emptiness, realization stealing.

Sixth Level, words like stone,

Deep impressions stand alone.

A deep, soft voice says, “Welcome,”

Chill inside my bones.

Seventh Level, deep voice, all-wise,

Henceforth and upwards is paradise,

Length, depth and breadth,

Measured with cubic rod.

Speak with praise forevermore,

Wrapped in Love,

Praise His Holy name for

You now speak with GOD!
